Science is Cool and Geeks Rule!
Big Hero 6 is the must-see family movie of the year!
For every kid who has felt slightly out of step with the standard school offering, or bored to the point of underachievement, Big Hero 6 will bring inspiration back into the idea of school.
Hiro is a is brilliant with robotics, but his energy is misdirected towards illegal robot fights. He is what people call a “ringer.” Someone who intentionally loses at a lower betting level to lure their opponent into betting more. Once their competitor has placed the large bet, the ringer pulls out all of the stops and wins the more expensive match. This is usually received very badly by the losing player, who realizes they’ve been duped.
Hiro’s brother saves his little brother after he pulls this scam, and he realizes that he has to get his brother out of that lifestyle. So, his brother brings Hiro to his school and gets him excited about creating cool new things, like Baymax, his own school project.
After his brother is killed in a horrible accident at the school shortly after Hiro presents his entrance exam project, Hiro and a group of his brothers friends apply their technology skills to transforming themselves into modern day super heroes, and along with Baymax, they avenge his brother’s death.
This is the coolest movie! It has tech, family, an awesome school I’d love to attend, amazing projects, the coolest robot (Baymax), and a fun storyline. Take your kids, and don’t grumble about going to an animated movie. I guarantee you’ll enjoy yourself. There is not a dull moment anywhere in this Big Hero 6.
Inspire your kids to do more than just sit around and play video games. They can create the next Baymax, or amazing bicycle, or magnetic self-morphing building block. The only limit is their imagination!
