There is no magic in theater during Magic in the Moonlight, the latest offering from Woody Allen. Although I’m a huge Colin Firth fan, as well as a fan of Emma Stone, both of them should have skipped this project. It was forgettable and anything but magical.
No Strings Attached is a decidedly adult comedy, turning the tables on the idea that men are the only ones who want to have no strings attached sex.
Every once and a while a film’s premise is so outrageous that it is surprising that no one has thought of it before. Hot Tub Time Machine is one of these rare pictures; however, director Steve Pink does not capitalize on of the film’s set up.
Unlike those films, The Hangover has a perfect understanding of levity. Characters in The Hangover treat events as if they are really happening. Their reactions seem genuine.
Every TV spot and billboard has pitched Funny People as a laugh out loud event, in the vein of Apatow’s previous films, but Funny People is nothing like them.
