Sandra Bullock has stepped up her game again as she plays, Ryan Stone, a reluctant astronaut, who end up in a catastrophic event in the sci-fi thriller, Gravity.
The comparisons people have been making to Jerry Maguire seem fair. Up in the Air sees George Clooney filling the Tom Cruise role. Both characters have to take a journey to find what is actually important in life.
There is something special about Good Night, and Good Luck that separates it from other modern movies. It is presented in black and white, but I don’t think that is one of the film’s defining features. Black and white in this day and age suggests a commitment to vision. Filmmakers could almost always make more money with a color film; however, they occasionally choose not to take the easy path.
Much of A Serious Man can be summed up in it’s its title. Gopnik has the desire to be a serious, rational, and reasonable man, but he has trouble getting people to perceive him that way.
The film is about Mr Fox’s attempt to prove to himself that he is still the same fox that he used to be. This leads Mr. Fox on a series of heists with other animals, where they try to steal food from three humans.
There is a tremendous amount of talent in The Men Who Stare At Goats. The cast includes George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey, and Ewan McGregor. On the opposite end of the camera there are equally impressive individuals, including cinematographer Robert Elswit (There Will Be Blood, and Michael Clayton). Sadly the talent in this film is not utilized.
